Ras Al Khaima
The Northern Emirates…. where the Hajar Mountains are truly spectacular: a wild and rough environment with deep canyons, vertical walls, ancient man made stairways and donkey trails.
The mountains in RAK are now more easily accessible with the brand new road leading to Jebel Jais. This road is partly opened to the public (the last 5km to the top is still under construction)

The Eastern Emirate of Fujairah…. lower than the northern mountains but not less beautiful… a lot to discover, not in the least the unique Wadi Wurayah: a natural wonder..

A bit closer to Dubai, hence more suitable for a quick hike in the weekend. Many great historical places, easily accessible. Hatta MTB trails are one of the most latest development in the region. Oman
A truly wonderful experience, easily accessible from the UAE. But with cumbersome border formalities nowadays.
Long distances to cover if you want to explore some magnificent wadi`s. So make sure you go for more than one day. Snake Canyon is truly amazing, but there is so much more.
